Hurricane Relief Resources - UCF

Our hearts are with all the students and friends who have experienced damages and loss due to Hurricane Ian.

We are aware that many students may have no power, food, water, or a place to sleep. Zupp is here to provide as much information as possible to help you and your fellow Knights find the resources and support needed during this difficult time.

 

Below you will find information about how to apply for relief & assistance, priority resources, housing, free wifi, and how to donate👇

 
Apply for Financial Relief & Assistance
 
UCF Financial Relief Form

If you or someone you know who experienced loss and are need of financial assistance, fill out the form below or email CareManager@ucf.edu. UCF will contact each student individually to provide resources and support.

 

 
FEMA Assistance

Many Central Florida counties are eligible to receive FEMA housing assistance by applying here:

Temporary Housing

 

UCF has been helping students–who filled out the Student of Concern form–get temporary housing accommodations. They are sending students to the Celeste Hotel and other hotels in the UCF area.

 
Locations with Free WiFi

 

We wanted to provide a list of places with free wifi (without feeling the pressure to purchase something) if you don't have power or the funds.

 
On Campus
  • John C. Hitt Library: normal library hours 

  • Student Union: The Student Union is open until 1 a.m. and operating with normal hours.

  • All Knight Study: All Knight Study has spaces on each side of campus in Ferrell Commons and at the CFE Arena. They have large and small study rooms available for groups and other quiet spaces for studying. AKS is open 24 hours a day Monday-Friday at each location and they also have weekend hours.

  • UCF Foxtail Coffee: On-campus coffee shop open Mon-Fri from 8am-5pm.

 
Off Campus
  • The Muddy Root: Coffee & tea shop on University Blvd, right across from campus. Open Sun-Thu from 10am-1am and Fri & Sat 10am-2am.

  • Panera Bread: On University Blvd, open Mon-Sat from 6:30am-9:30pm and Sun from 7am-8:30pm.

  • Alafaya Branch Public Library: Down Colonial Drive, near Waterford Lakes. You can quickly sign up for a library card with a driver's license or piece of mail that shows proof of a county address. They're open Mon-Thu from 10am-7pm, Fri & Sat from 10am-6pm, and Sun from 1-6pm.

Emergency Relief for UCF Family

This is where you can donate money to provide immediate relief for students or employees who need emergency funding

 

Knights Pantry

If you have extra food and water, you can to donate to Knights Pantry, an on-campus food pantry available for students in need. You can drop off items at the Knights Pantry in Ferrell Commons and at donation bins set up across campus, which can be found under “Maps” in the UCF Mobile App

 
Florida Disaster Fund

The Florida Disaster Fund distributes funds to service organizations that will serve individuals within their communities with disaster response and recovery

Priority Resources Available Today

 

Here are additional resources and information for all UCF students...

  • Knights Pantry: Knights Pantry is open to all students facing hardship due to the storm.

  • Counseling and Psychological Services: All students are encouraged to contact CAPS’ crisis line at 407-823-2811 and press 5 if they need to speak with a therapist.

  • Therapy Assistance Online: TAO is a self-guided interactive, web-based program that provides assistance to help overcome anxiety, depression, and other concerns. Get Started

  • Recreation and Wellness Center (RWC): All Recreation and Wellness Center locations are open with regular RWC hours.

  • Grocery Shuttle Services: Grocery shuttles are available through 8 p.m. today and during regular Tuesday hours from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Regular shuttle service will resume Tuesday, Oct. 4.

  • John C. Hitt Library: The library is open until 6 p.m. today and will resume normal library hours Tuesday, Oct. 4.

  • Student Union: The Student Union is open until 1 a.m. and operating with normal hours.

  • Dining Services: Dining options in the Student Union, Knights Plaza and other areas on campus are operating with normal hours.
